I hate to break it to you but a virus or other disease is not sent by god to teach us a lesson. The next pandemic won’t be either.

Dose age and the reasons for leaving affect the out come
by joe134cd infirstly for anyone leaving is don’t get involved in alcohol, drugs, parties, and sleeping around, because it will just come back and bite you in the arse.. i have a theory that those who leave the religion at an older age do better than those who leave at a younger age.
i think to that the reasons for leaving are quite different between the age groups.
i sometimes wonder if many of the under 30’s use the short comings of the religion, as an excuse to pursue the above mentioned life style.

I left in my 20’s and spent a little bit of time drinking and carousing 😀. It was fun to have girlfriends to hit the town with, go to concerts, go on dates without the pressure of “will I marry this guy?”.
After that time I got my shit together, went college, got married etc. I have an awesome job/career and have been happily married for 20 years.

Has Anything Positive Come Out Of This Coronavirus Isolation For You?
by minimus ini guess you could make a case of more families being together although that might not be the best situation.
less cars and pollutants mean we can breathe better.
if you were ever uncomfortable in crowds, this could be good news.

This dog is very conscientious 😀. He would wake you up to go to work if you fell back to sleep after the alarm. 630 wake up on the dot.
We start work at 730, if I’m not in my office by 725 he would bark at me to hurry me along.
And at the end of the day my computer makes a distinctive “ding” when I log off. When he hears that he jumps up and heads for the door 😀
I’m going to miss him, Probably not more than a week or two left.

I have worked from home for years so not much difference there. The rest of my workmates have been going to work everyday through this whole mess. The GM and I made a decision to switch to local suppliers for things we could, to try and support the local economy and it has worked out really well. Most of the local vendors could come close on pricing but we are saving thousands on freight. Our corporate office CEO has been amazing, giving updates, being even handed, balancing keeping everyone safe while still getting our work done.
I got some bargains in the stock market a few weeks ago - one has already more than doubled 😀
One of our dogs is in the end stages of life and I haven’t had to travel for work so I have been able to stay home with him and pamper him a little more.
But, I miss being able to go to the store whenever/wherever I want and buying what I am used to. I miss being able to go out to dinner on Fridays nights, going shopping, to the movies, the casino.........anywhere.

Hospital is laying off and furloughing
by Anony Mous ini've been having a tough time today, i just got notice that our hospital is laying off a large group of people and furloughing others.
nurses, doctors, we just don't have enough business during this covid crisis, we've only ran at 60% capacity, while cuomo is telling us about shortages, they weren't ever realized, and nys simply won't open up fast enough for us to recover.
nys has given notice that hospitals are likely going to be out for 4-5 more months before all restrictions will be lifted, only necessary surgeries are allowed right now, with a few hundred of millions per month revenue shortfall, this is going to destroy and contract our business and our remote (rural) hospitals are the hardest hit, probably going to close permanently.

The hospitals in my area are laying off people as well due to all other surgeries/tests/procedures being cancelled, and the COVID-19 wave never materialized. I hope it doesn’t materialize now - after we lay everyone off. -

Yes please open some things up. In my entire county there have been 4 cases - 3 are recovered and we are still all locked up. I would love to go out to dinner assuming any of the restaurants survive this.

Should You Be Required To Wear A Coronavirus Mask?
by minimus insome towns require everyone going outside to wear one.
one massachusetts city requires anyone from 5 up to wear a mask.
some cities require masks and have shut down parks and sports playing while others in a nearby town have no such restrictions.

I work in an essential business as well. Right now masks are provided if we want to wear them but they are not mandatory.
We have moved people out so that there is only one person to an office and the rest of us are working from home. There isn’t a state/county/city mandate at this time. We have loads of Clorox wipes and hand sanitizer.
I personally have not worn a mask in public at this point.

Who is considered more bizarre?
by incognito2014 injws or mormons.
from a public point of view not from people within the religion as that would be obvious.. examples of extreme beliefs or behaviour would be useful..
